The randomly chosen winner of last week’s “What if We Weren’t Alone?” giveaway is Valerie Long! Valerie, please send an email with your shipping information and your choice of prize from this list to admin1ATrachelvincentDOTcom and we’ll put your prize in the mail.

Thanks so much to everyone who came to see me and Sophie Jordan in San Antonio on Saturday! We had so much fun answering your questions and signing your books! Caren, the B&N events coordinator, sent me most of the pics below (Thanks, Caren!) and I’ve cropped out the faces of minors, just in case. Safety first, you know… ;)

Above are Sophie and me, answering questions. And struggling with the cap on my water bottle. ;)

Above, I look stupid in mid-word, but it was a great pic of Sophie, so I had to post it! ;)

Here we are signing books for actual teenagers! That’s my favorite part, and since I started in adult urban fantasy and I do few signings, interacting with my actual target audience for YA is still something of a thrill for me.

And finally, the picture above is from a reader named Gabby, who really made my day!

If you were there and have any other pictures of the event that you’d like me to share, let me know!

Now for this week’s giveaway…

Sigh, there is no such thing in my country. I mean, there might a few now and then in big cities, but they are not so common. I had the chance to meet Becca Fiztpatrick at BCBF in 2011 and she was so nice! She actually took the time to talk to me! We chatted for half an hour in the booth of her Italian publisher. I also met Melissa Marr in Bologna and am hoping to get to know more US authors in the future

Sounds like you had a lot of fun at your signing. Wish I could have gone but I’m from Australia. xD

I haven’t been to any signing events recently but the last one I attended was earlier this year for Fallen’s author Lauren Kate who was super nice to everyone. In the past I’ve also been to a Richelle Mead event . . . if only she came back to Australia again. As for what author I would most love to meet . . . it would have to be between YOU (I know I know sneaky but a very smart answer too haha) and Jeaniene Frost who I’m a big fan of. Anyway thanks for this awesome giveaway!

Our area is too small to have book signings so I have never been, I have a long list of authors I would go see, I do have a signed copy from Nora Roberts and I would love to meet her.

  4. Keri Kaplan

    September 18, 2012

Actually it was yourself & Jaye Wells at Murder by the Book in Houston.

  5. Nicole McCormick

    September 18, 2012

The most recent author signing I went to was Eoin Colfer. He was very entertaining. Even my hubby, who hasn’t read any of the Artemis Fowl books, had a great time.

  6. Tal Rejwan

Um… my most recent author event was with Becca Fitzpatrick (for SILENCE)

    September 18, 2012

I have only actually met one author in person and that was the AMAZING Rachel Caine! She was super nice and so LOUD! You can tell that this was my first time speaking directly to an American! The queue was actually out the door for her! It was crazy but one of the funnest things I have ever done! I hope that I can do it again someday!

    September 18, 2012

I’ve never been to a signing.. Most of the time here in Colorado they are all in Boulder and that is about 4 hours from me. I would love to meet you, I think youar an amazing writer and I would also love to meet Luranne McDaniel.. Her books really helped me survive some difficult times when I was in highschool

  10. Rachel C

    September 18, 2012

I’m pretty sure the last signing I went to was Meg Cabot. I took my daughters and husband and had a blast. She is a hoot. I loved that she had a powerpoint presentation and my kids still quote her. She messed up my daughter’s book while signing it and ended up buying her a new one :)

  11. Laura

    September 18, 2012

The first signing I attended which was just recently was to see Cassandra Clare in my home city in England, i was so surprised, its usually London that gets all the signings! it was the most surreal experience meeting the person that created a world that I read and love! I have way too many authors I would like to meet, You are right up there at the top of my list with Richelle Mead, Rachel Caine and Karin Slaughter. Just to name a few!

  12. Rachelle

  17. Doris

    September 18, 2012

I haven’t been to any signings in my area, but I did get to go to the RT Convention this year. It was loads of fun. My to-read list was miles long by the time I got home!

  20. Nefertari

    September 18, 2012

I live in Montréal, signing event are not frequent for the authors i read. The last time for me was a couple years ago at ” Le salon du livre ” and i got a book signed by Patrick Sénécal ( he is compare to Stephen King for the french Canadian.). I coudn’t go to Comic con Montréal last weekend and i missed Kelley Armstrong. I am very sad about it.

  21. Veronika

    September 18, 2012

I’ve never attended any signing event, sadly we don’t have such things here I live. I’m always sad when I hear about a signing with my favorite authors in US and I can’t be there. I would like to meet every single author I read a book from! I think I would go with a wheelbarrow packed with books! :D

  22. Kathy Fusto

    September 18, 2012

I went to the book signing for my friend Brigid Kemmerer’s new book SPARK – book 2 of the Elemental Series last Saturday, September 15th in Ellicot City, MD !! She is an amazing writer and I’m soo incredibly excited to see so many people share my thoughts on her writing and her stories! Her book signing included her talking about her characters, the Merrick brothers, how it was writing about them, she read a chapter about the character Gabriel running into a burning house to save lives, and then had a giveaway for several prizes! She signed the books, answered lots of questions, gave away bookmarks and bracelets with stones that have significance for another character in the series. I have such respect for those special people who can put their thoughts down on paper and make it into a story that other people can enjoy as well! You are all amazing creators!

  23. Kai Charles

    September 18, 2012

My last signing was at San Diego Comic Con
I met Heather Brewer and tons of other authors :)

  24. Kristine Kus

    September 18, 2012

I’ve never been to a book signing before, but if I could I would love to meet either you, Rachel, or Kelley Armstrong. you are both my favourite authors. :)

  25. William Edwards

    September 18, 2012

The last event that I went to was a book signing for Chef Anne Burrell’s — Cook Like A Rock Star signing. It took me 4 hours to get to Atlanta, but totally worth it!! If I can meet any author it would have to be you Rachel. I meet Cassie Clare and Holly Black in Atlanta a couple years ago, and I met Lisa McMann last year in Michigan. You are the last author on my bucket list!

  26. Magaly

    September 18, 2012

My first and last signing was with Ally Carter (she’s awesome). It would be awesome to meet Meg Cabot, Cassie Clare and you of course(: But writers don’t really come where I live :/

  27. Melody Colyer

    September 18, 2012

  29. Christina T

    September 18, 2012

I have never been to a book signing (sadness) but if I could go to any of an author of my choosing it would be Tamora Pierce. Her books got me into reading and if it wasn’t for her amazing books I never would have discorved the awesomeness of yours and many others. I love reading!

  30. Kristia Miltiadou

    September 18, 2012

AGH.. there are no such things in my country (Cyprus).. but if I could someday attend a book signing I would like to meet you of course (big fan!!) and Marissa Meyer.

  31. Cordelia Fitzgerald

    September 18, 2012

I haven’t ever been to a book signing but some of the top authors I would go outta my way for would be Suzanne Collins, J.K. Rowling, Colleen Houck, and, of course, yours truly.
That’s not a fantasy wishlist is it?

  32. alicia marie

    September 18, 2012

The most recent book signing I went to was at The Decatur Book Festival. It was the first time I’d ever been and it was so awesome to see so many authors in the same place : )

  33. Jen K

    September 18, 2012

I’ve tried to go to a few but never successfully. And not to suck up or anything, but I would love to go to one of your signings. You are my inspiration for my own writing and having the chance to meet you in person would be incredible

  34. Stella (Ex Libris)

    September 18, 2012

The most recent and only author signing/meeting I was lucky to attend was Gail Carriger’s European tour! I met her in Budapest, had all my 5 books signed by her and she even chatted with me, so it was great meeting her. I would LOVE to meet Kelley Armstrong, you, Erin Nicholas, Jill Shalvis and I could go on :-D Thanks for the giveaway and the photos!

  35. Lindsey

    September 18, 2012

Quite a few authors travel down to Houston (which I am two hours away from), but I always seem to be busy when they do. I’m pretty sure Richelle Mead came through not too long ago. I wish I could have been there for that. My top two authors to meet would be Jeri Smith-Ready and you. Out of all the authors I follow on facebook/twitter/blogs/whatever, the two of you have always seemed the most “normal.” By that I mean that we get to hear about you and your lives as if you were just another blogger and not super-authors. :)

I also wish I lived a little closer to San Antonio. I would stalk….I mean come to all your local signings!

  36. Lolita

    September 18, 2012

Sadly there almost no author signings here in Europe. I would love to go to a signing from Rachel Vincent, Kelley Armstrong or Karen Marie Moning.

  37. erinf1

    September 19, 2012

thanks for a great post and glad to hear that your signing went well. I have only been to one signing in my life cuz I live in the Midwest and we don’t get a lot of tours. It was last November… Rachel Caine and Chloe Neill. So much fun :)

  38. Bec

    September 19, 2012

I’ve never been to a signing. I live hours away from my closest major city so it makes it difficult to get to go to any that are happening. I’d love to meet you or Richelle Mead!
And hopefully I will meet you when you come to Brisbane early next year!

  39. Tiffany Webb

    September 19, 2012

I’ve never attended a signing before but I really really want to. I would love to go to a signing for Ellen Hopkins, C.C. Hunter, P.C. Cast, Karen Chance, Jennifer Estep and YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I hope that Gina Damico can come to Alabama during her road trip. I filled out this form and everything. *fingers crossed* oh and hopefully I’ll be able to go to Yallfest in November :D A lot of awesome authors are going to be there.

    Thanks for the giveaway!!!!!!!!! ^__^

  40. Kelly Taylor

    September 19, 2012

I have never had the opportunity to attend a signing. My fave authors never seem to come anywhere near me :-(. I would love to meet you obviously, but other than you I would love to meet
Kim Harrison, P.C. Cast or Rachel Caine. I would loved to have had the chance to meet Jennifer Rardin too as her books are some of my all time favorites.

  41. Tyawna Edmonds

    September 19, 2012

I went to see Kelley Armstrong at the When Words Collide conference in Calgary! I am incredibly grateful because she took the time to sign all 28 booksof hers which I had to drag behind me in a suitcase!!!

  42. Bre M

    September 19, 2012

I have never experienced the Greatness of a book signing/meet and greet event :( sadly. But I would absolutley LOVE to meet you and J.K Rowling ya’lls books are awesome!! But I live in Alabama… not sure if anyone comes here for book signings? Thanks for the giveaway and have a great day!!

  43. Hai-Yen Huynh

    September 19, 2012

I attended the Smart Chicks Kick It Tour this past Saturday, September 15 in Pointe-Claire (Montreal, Canada). The panel included Kelley Armstrong, Rachel Caine, Rosemary Clement-Moore, Melissa de la Cruz, Kami Garcia, Melissa Marr and Margaret Stohl. It was awesome! I was mainly there to meet Kelley Armstrong but it was definitely great to meet the other authors. There are many authors I would like to meet one of these days. In fact, you are part of the list :)

  44. AHC

    September 19, 2012

The last signing I attended was Neil Gaiman’s. Worth. Every. Minute.

  45. Lisa

    September 19, 2012

I was at San Diego Comic Con over the Summer and had the opportunity to meet several authors and have a few of them sign a book or bookmark. I guess my favorite was Andrea Cremer.

  46. Carmen B.

    September 19, 2012

I’m glad you had fun at the signing! I wish there were more of them in Switzerland – usually they’re just by Swiss authors (not my field of interest) or then maybe every once and again one by a successful author of more Literary fiction – again, not that much my thing. No YA/Fantasy authors ever come here.
But last October I made a quick city trip to Dublin with a friend, and it just so happened that on our second day there, Becca Fitzpatrick was doing a signing/Q&A an we managed to snag some of the last tickets ^^ I really enjoyed it – I had looked at Hush Hush so many times but was never sure whether I’d enjoy the story. I started reading it after the signing right along with my friend, and it was so cool to lie next to each other in our hotel room and discuss and laugh as we read along ^^

  47. Dawn Doyle

    September 19, 2012

There’s only ever been one signing close enough to me to go to but it was one that I very much wanted to attend. I only had to travel one hour to see: Kelley Armstrong! I adore her writing so it was awesome. She is a very down to earth woman. She was great. It made me want to see so many of my other favourite authors! Thanks for the giveaway!

    September 19, 2012

I recently drove out of town to see Brenna Yovanoff, Maggie Stiefvater and Tessa Gratton. It was absolutely FAB!!!

I really want to go to a JK Rowling event…but ya know, not possible for me at the moment.

  49. Jessica S.

    September 19, 2012

The last one I went to was a multi author signing with Lisa Desrochers, Kendare Blake and Marta Acosta. It was fun too! Just a standard signing, but still great!

  50. Linda P

    September 19, 2012

I am going to a signing with Brent Weeks tomorrow.

  51. Penny Wright

    September 19, 2012

I’ve never been to a signing but always wanted too. I missed Kelley Armstrong’s in Hamilton, Ontario which is closest to me to go too. I would like to see you or Sophie Jordan, but not sure if you do Canada do you? Would like to see Cynthia Hand, P.C. Cast, or Leigh Fallon in person. Everyone I listed is on my bucket list, and will try and meet them someday. Thanks for the giveaways Rachel.

  52. Neymi Gonzalez

    September 19, 2012

So I live in Florida, but my sister lives in San Antonio and she was able to go to your book signing and get me a book signed by you, but one day I hope I am able to meet you too. So, thank you for signing my book. I think you wrote “your sister is awesome” in the book which is true because after all she was doing me a favor. I have also been to Sherrylin Kenyon book signings, and also the RWA was here in Orlando once and I attended that event and got a bunch of books signed by different authors like Jeanine Frost and Linda Howard. I would love to go to a J.R. Ward event in the future hopefully! :)

  53. Brent

    September 19, 2012

I’ve never attended an event. I can’t choose just one author whose event I’d like to attend.

  54. Alexis

    September 19, 2012

I have never been to a signing! Wish I have! I would love to meet you haha! Also, If that’s not possible, I would like to meet P.C Cast ! :)

  55. Lacey T

    September 19, 2012

I’ve never been to a book signing but I’ve been dying to go to one! I’d love to meet John Green or Cassie Clare.

  56. Taylor @ Marked By Books

    September 19, 2012

I’ve never been to any kind of author event! But I think that if I could, I’d really like to talk to Tamora Pierce. She’s been writing for such a long time, and I’d love to hear what she has to say about how the business has changed in the past few years.

  57. Liliana

    September 19, 2012

The one and only event I have been to was this past April and I went to see Kimberly Derting for “The Last Echo” launch party in Seattle. It was a ton of fun and I wish I could do it again and meet more authors. But I live right in the smack center of WA and the cool people usually only come to or around Seattle, and that’s a long drive for us. But I thought it was totally worth it!

  58. AndreaM.

    September 19, 2012

No. I haven’t been to any signing’s, or events, but I’d like to go to any that involve YA authors—or just an author I’ve read books for in general. Like Jennifer L. Armentrout, Veronica Wolff, Jennifer Estep, Tiffany Truitt, Holly Black, Paula Morris, Rachel Vincent, or even Scott Speer.

  59. Brianna R

    September 19, 2012

I have never been to one, I live in Western Australia and for some silly reason all the good writers only go to Sydney , Brisbane and pretty much just the eastern states. I would love to meet Keri Arthur or yourself.

  60. MelissaW

    September 19, 2012

i never been to a signing before :( theres never many here in NZ that you actually here about or have a enough warning for( so you can travel to). So really i’d love just to attend a signing of an author whos book i’d actually read.

  61. Fern

    September 19, 2012

I met Becca Fitzpatrick when she came to my local library in the UK. She was really nice and signed all my books =) I’ve also met Rachel Caine when she came to my town, got to sit up on stage with her in a group of question-askers =)

  62. Jennifer @ Some Like It Paranormal

    September 19, 2012

The last signing I went to was last year I think at a Barnes & Noble in Sacramento, California for Lisa Lutz. She writes the Spellman Files series. A hilarious series about a dysfunctional P.I. family. Quite a few authors come out to San Francisco but I hate driving there. Traffic and parking is murder so I don’t attend too many but I plan to try to attend more in the future.

  63. Crystal M.

    September 19, 2012

I have never been to an author signing but i would love to come and see you, Rachel or Rachel Caine. Two ladys named Rachel that are awesome and inspiring.

    • Rachel Vincent

      September 19, 2012

Rachel C. and I have signed together multiple times. ;)

  64. Jo

    September 19, 2012

I believe the last author event I went to was the UK launch for Delirium by Lauren Oliver. Oh my god, I was SUCH a fangirl, despite having met a number of authors previously and have kind of gotten “used to” meeting writers. But I am just so in awe of Lauren Oliver, and she was so lovely! It was a great day!

I’d also love to meet you! And it would be awesome to meet really any author who’s books I’ve read. You’re all just such great people, and it’s always amazing to meet you all!

  65. Holly W

    September 19, 2012

I would really love to meet Kelley Armstrong, love all of her books, and she is a fellow Canadian to boot :)

  66. Lisa R

    September 19, 2012

I’ve never actually been to one even if I’d LOVE to meet some ya authors. Not very many actually come to Toronto, or al least they haven’t recently… :(

  67. Grace Lo

    September 19, 2012

I haven’t yet met any authors at books signings and the such, but I’d love to meet someone like you for example. And Kimberly Derting. And Kelley Armstrong. Plus John Green.

  68. Susan S.

    September 19, 2012

I have never been to a signing before. I have several authors that I would love to meet so I can’t narrow it down to just one.

  69. Melissa Robles

    September 19, 2012

I have ever been to an author signing event. I really wish that here in Mexico there made this type of things, but they don’t… at least not where I live. Anyway, I would LOVE to attend one of yours Rachel! I love love love TOD :D <3 *oops, the soul screamer's series* . I would also like to meet Julie Kagawa and Veronica Roth :D

I would love to meet Christopher Pike and yourself! That would totally make my day :)

Do you know if you’re coming to Perth Australia, Rachel? (please say yes, please say yes!)

  71. Mecayla Brennyn

    September 19, 2012

The most recent book signing that I’ve been to is probably the book signing at Metropolis at Metrotown. Marissa Meyer was there and she signed my copy of Cinder (Book 1 of the Lunar Chronicles) It was a fun event and I really enjoyed her story of how she became to write the book. :)

  72. Tasha

    September 19, 2012

I’ve never been to a signing event. However, there are three authors that I would VERY much love to meet: Rachel Vincent (Of course you’re on my list! x3 You’re awesome!), Kelley Armstrong, and Sunny. (:

  73. Vivian N

    September 19, 2012

The most recent book event I went to was the LA Times Festival of Books at USC in April. I got to see John Green but they cut off the line for his book signing by the time I got there ):

I just went to the PAYA Book Festival a few weeks ago and had a blast. There were so many awesome authors there! I got to meet Jennifer L Armentrout, Jeri Smith-Ready and Wendy Higgins who were all super nice.

  78. Maria

    September 19, 2012

The last book signing event i went to was last year Los Angeles RT book convention. It was my first major book convention i got to meet you and get a book sign by you. I also meet other of my fav authors such as holly black and cassandra clare

  79. Lucille

    September 19, 2012

I’ve never been to an event/signing. No author (that I have read the books of) comes to the other parts of California, it’s always LA or San Francisco. :(

I want to meet Julie Kagawa, L.J. Smith, Richelle Mead, Ally Carter, Maggie Stiefvater, Veronica Roth, and of course, you!

Thanks for the giveaway! Happy writing and reading! :p

  80. Michelle H

    September 19, 2012

I have never been to a book signing. Although, I have met Deacon (aka Sean Kanan) off of The Bold and the Beautiful years ago and I have to say… that was very memorable. As for which author I would want to meet the most, I would have to travel back in time for Robert Cormier or Edgar Allen Poe or Jane Austen. Of course, there are authors alive today as well. You, of course. Richelle Mead, Emily Giffin, Chloe Neill, Stephanie Meyer, M Leighton, J K Rowling, Nicholas Sparks… the list is never ending. I could no more choose a favorite author than a favorite book. I guess I’m just greedy and eclectic like that :)

Well, I’d love to meet you and get the books you wrote that I own signed and personalized! :) If only I could go to your signing in Brisbane- unfortunately, I’m going to be visiting Sydney during the end of March, so I don’t think I can go… Any chance of you going to the Sydney’s Writer’s Festival? *wink wink nudge nudge*

I’ll actually be there (Brisbane) the first week of March. ;)

I have yet to meet an author at a book signing, however, if I had the chance to meet any of my favorite authors – I would definitely have to pick between you (Rachel Vincent) and Jennifer Armentrout. Both would be VERY exciting and tons of fun for me. Just this week I finished reading your Soul Screamers series and I cannot believe it took me that long to find out about those books. They were AMAZING! I couldn’t believe all the emotions that I endured through them. Thanks for that brillant mind of yours and thanks for the giveaway contests!

    • Rachel Vincent

      September 19, 2012

Thank you! And Jennifer Armentrout and I have been in the same venue a couple of times, so that could actually happen. ;)

    September 19, 2012

I’ve never attended a author event, maybe I’m just lazy. I know that every year in Brisbane (Aus), there’s a Brisbane’s Writers Festival and my school gets like 30 people to go and meet authors, there’s never been an author there that got me interested lol.

Though I would really want to meet JK Rowling and Cassandra Clare.

  87. Kaila

    September 19, 2012

I’d have to pick just one?! Honestly I’d have to pick you, Richelle Mead AND Cassandra Clare, who’s YA series I absolutely love :D

I’ve never been to one but I would really like to come to one of yours! Since I live in Texas, I just know it’s going to happen one of these days now that I’m finally done with school.

I think the last one was a Kim Harrison signing. It was for Pale Demon because she actually came to St. Louis! So that’s 2 years ago? Wow. Been awhile!

I have only been to one author event/signing which was for Sherrilyn Kenyon and Dianna Love last March. I have to many that I would love to be able to go so I could meet all of the wonderful authors that I enjoy reading.

    September 19, 2012

I’ve never been to an author event/signing before :( …and the author I most want to meet is YOU! :D

  92. Crystal F

    September 19, 2012

I have never been to a signing. I keep eyeing them, but the closest most of them come is 3 hours away. Nicholas Sparks is the exception, he lives 45 minutes away and almost always starts his tour in his “home” town of New Bern. But I am sure that is a mob so I never fool with that.

As for who I would love to go to a signing of, just about anyone at this point that is an author I like (and that runs a wide gamut). I just want to go to a signing. I would love to go to one of your signings, I love the Soul Screamers series and read your blog all the time. So no I’m not just kissing butt, lol! Other than you I could also see going to see Nora Roberts, Sophie Jordan, Lauren Kate, Janet Evanovich, Sandra Brown, Stephanie Dray/Draven, and so many more!

I have never been to a signing before. If I had to pick one author I would travel to see, it would be you Rachel!
I would love to see you in Brisbane , but I am in Perth on the other side of Australia and it would cost me a pretty penny to fly me, my hubby and little boys over to there. But never say never right? Maybe I’ll buy a lotto ticket this week! :o)

Its true that I have never been to any author’s event as the place where I live is nowhere near any of my fav author’s place… I have read yours, Aimee’s, Richelle, Meg, Sophie, Tarafuller….. and all you authors are my fav….. and so its so much difficult to choose among you all…. so I would prefer everyone… ;)

I’ve never been to a signing, they don’t happen much in Canada, or at least, no where near me. If I could meet one author it would have to be either Micheal Grant, Patrick Ness, or L.J. Smith. Those authors just really stand out for me, I’m not sure why.

    September 22, 2012

I’ve only been to one! I went to a Rachel Hawkins event on her tour for Spell Bound :)

I haven’t made it to a signing yet since I live in an area that not many events come through. The three authors I would most like to meet are you, Jennifer L. Armentrout, and Cassandra Clare. :D

      September 24, 2012

I have signed with them both, but not at the same time. ;)

I’ve never been to a book signing due to where I live, which is unfortunate. There are so many great authors that i would love to meet, one in particular being John Green. He is an amazing writer and has a great sense of humour.

    September 22, 2012

The last signing I went to . . . It was for the last Sarah Dessen book, What Happened to Goodbye. That was great, I even got my dad (who kinda got roped into driving me there) to admit that it was fun. I think that was earlier this year, like maybe March? I don’t remember the date. I wish I could make it to more signings but I swear the universe conspires against me to make them on days where I have a big test to study for or no way to get there :)

    First.
It’d definitely and without question be YOU. Which leads us to.
    Second.
I’m definitely NOT in the US or anywhere where reading is supported as much as I love it. So…
    Third.
Nope, there aren’t ANY book/signing events here, AT ALL.
    Fourth.
If you’ll excuse me I’ll go to a corner and die of envy right now!
That Gabby girl T________T Then again… If I ever were to meet you I’d cry too much and too hard to even be remotely presentable for a single picture with you T_T Plus, I think I’d tackle you and hug you too tight >.< Which might-definitely would-lead to security-if there's any-taking me out of the premises T_T BUT it would definitely be worth it. COMPLETELY!

I actually just went this summer to my first book signing. It was for JA Janice at a Costco and I was going to get two books signed, one for my sister and one for a sick friend in the hospital. I would have to say it was one of the most disappointing meetings of my life.
I was very excited and nervous to meet her and was there 45 minutes before she got there, and first in line. I have read a couple of her books and had a few questions for her and had gone over in my head on the way down on what I was going to say to her. Then five minutes before the author showed up another lady comes up who claimed to have met her several times, read all her books and who was just very overzealous. The author shows up, barely acknowledge me, signed my books while the lady behind me spoke over my shoulder the whole time and I could barely get a word in. The author quickly passed me up for the lady behind me. Not the best experience but it won’t stop me from going to meet other authors that I love to read!!
Come to Tucson, AZ I’ve shared your books with all my friends and we would LOVE to MEET YOU!! :)

My last signing event was during grad school when Anthony Rapp came to campus and I got him to sign his memoir. It was amazing, even if I did have to miss a class to go to the event.
